Plantzy Open Gardens

Thanks those who came to our open gardens, hope to see you at one in 2027!

2026 Open Gardens:

(Already Happened) May 23th: 11am – 2pm

Join Zak of Plantzy and Tanya Jones, a life long home gardener and HPSO member, at her lovely place tucked in old forest on the banks of Clear Creek.   Around the house, Plantzy altered what was flat ground into a dynamic terrain of hillocks and mini-mountains with rock formations as well as rain gardens, with a multitude of native plants.  It has over 150 native species, and was planted in the spring and fall of 2025, so it is a younger garden, but many plants will be blooming. Also, feel free to wander on paths in the surrounding forest to observe an array of naturally occurring understory species.

Due to limited parking you will likely need to sign up for a specific 1 hour time period, and we will let you know if so.

Also learn about some of the insects in the garden from Frank Howarth, entomologist. Frank and Nancy’s garden is in Bridlemile SW Portland. This event is also with the Portland Chapter of the Native Plant Society of Oregon, which we are member of, consider joining!
